Quality cardiovascular medicine at risk
The Belgian cardiologists are concerned about the quality of
cardiovascular care in our country. "With the proliferation of new cardiac
centers, the avalanche of linear austerity and lack of strategy for the introduction
of innovative technologies, the quality of care in cardiology at risk,"
said Professor Guy Van Camp, president of the Belgian Society of cardiology and
cardiology department at UZ Brussels.
The federal government announced austerity measures as well as
structural changes in the past year, but according to the cardiologists have a
negative impact on the quality of care for cardiac patients. There is also the
risk of over-consumption and increase the cost. http://www.blogymate.com/post.aspx?blogid=4847527&t=What-Diet-Is-For-Pineapple
Cause of Death In Belgium, heart disease is the leading
cause of death, and to rise again increase with the aging population and the
increasing obesity risk heart disease , the total cost of health care for
coronary heart disease in Belgium in 2009 was 495.78 million Euros, which
represents approximately 46 Euros per capita. In comparison, the cost per
capita in Germany is 66 Euros, 51 in Luxembourg, 96 in the Netherlands and 65
in Sweden.
Quality Cardiologists questions that do not change the rules
in cardiology until July 2015
They want scientific
information used in evaluations and decisions are not influenced by lobbying
organizations. They require a long-term vision on cardiovascular medicine, and
no electoral vision for four years, and they want to avoid the health care system
evolves to private medicine.
